After leaving Pensacola, we made the short drive over to New Orleans. I'm a little short on pictures because my phone died, but we enjoyed a good evening and morning in the city. The boys fell in love with beignets - we had them for dessert in the evening and breakfast in the morning as well!
Although we enjoyed the tasty treats of the French Market and exploring the French quarter, the reality is that the post-Katrina New Orleans is not a particularly kid-friendly place. So, after picking up a Central Grocery muffuletta for the road, we headed out of town to explore the swamps a bit.
Our one and a half hour tour with Cajun Pride swamp tours scratched the "see an alligator" itch for the boys and gave us all an appreciation for the wildlife of the swamp. It was a great way to spend the afternoon before heading up the road.
