We woke up to a beautiful morning here in Central City, cool and crisp in the morning but warming up quickly to a comfortable 75° or so. It was so nice to have a leisurely morning around camp. Both Jen and I were basking in it.
We headed down to the larger town of Idaho Springs around 11:00 to pick up camping supplies and explore a bit. We were thrilled to stumble upon a farmers market, so after visiting the Visitor's Center and museum, we picked up a few things there, then let the kids play on the playground.
Next stop was the town water wheel and train engine. About as iconic as you can get.
Now we are settled in back at camp for a campfire and hot dog dinner. What a treat to have a whole day in one place. Sam flies in tomorrow, so we are looking forward to a reunion with Daddy in the morning!
