We left Pizmo beach yesterday morning and headed up Route 1 along the coast to Monterey. I lived in Monterey when I was in elementary school so I have been really looking forward to sharing it with the kids. Along the way we saw sea lions and took in the amazing views.
Miss Jen and Mr. Israel were kind enough to help us set up camp before they headed off to Yosemite for a couple of days. The boys and I decided to visit a favorite pizza joint from my childhood for dinner – nothing beats Gianni's! It got three thumbs up from the Doan boys!
After dinner we made a quick tour around town and checked out spots to tidepool in the morning. We are looking forward to a fun few days exploring the city!
