549.7 miles today... and other than a late start, the day went about as well as we could have hoped. Definitely glad we took the truck - it was working hard in the mountains, I don't think the van could have done it.
Lunch was a nice picnic at Longdale recreation area, off 64. Apparently a lot of copperheads in the area but we only saw one.
The kids have been awesome in the car! So proud of them. We have a good structure, I think, alternating between Free Time, Learning Time, Team Time, Movie Time and Quiet Time. We'll see if they can keep it up for another 6,500 miles. ;-)
Our only disappointment today was finding that Favas - the restaurant highly recommended by cousin Rebecca and her husband Dean - was closed when we arrived. We opted to eat dinner from the cooler and spend our time at the pool instead.
